Champion despite a stinging seven to zero defeat

In 1932, Olympique lillois suffered a heavy 7-0 defeat against Olympique de Marseille during the very first professional French championship. This massive score is explained by the expulsion of four players in the second half after scuffles, followed by the refusal of the Lillois to continue playing with nine men. The club nevertheless managed to win the title at the end of this same season.
