A technology promised to the Oceanic was awaited for decades

The diesel-electric propulsion initially planned for the ocean liner Oceanic did not see the light of day on a ship of this scale for many years. This bold technical choice, imagined by Lord Kylsant for this aborted project, had to wait for a much later era to be realized. It was therefore necessary to wait until 1987 and the refit of the Queen Elizabeth 2 to see this technology applied to an ocean liner of this size.
