A future marshal insulted Édouard Daladier in 1936
Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque was an officer from a family close to the Action française. During the July 14, 1936 parade in front of ministers Léon Blum and Édouard Daladier, he accosted the latter by shouting a resounding "For the executioner, head held high!". He broke definitively with this royalist and antisemitic movement in 1940.
