A crusader accused of corruption by a chronicler

Guy II de Dampierre is a lord who participated in the third crusade. An English chronicler by the name of Ralph de Diceto claimed that he had received money from Saladin along with other Christian leaders to drag their feet during the siege of Acre. This accusation of corruption is however considered false by historians, because the knight kept the full trust of Richard the Lionheart.
